Friendship Ministry

This ministry is geared towards adults with mental disabilities, and meets every Wednesday evening from 7-8:30 pm for a time of fellowship and praise to God.

Meetings are started with singing, remembering birthdays and special occasions and prayer. We know that God hears, cares and understands. Then it’s on to story time and crafts.  The evening is finished off with coffee and goodies and a time for socializing and fellowship.

Faith.

Faith is a gift from God that does not depend on any level of human intelligence.

Friendships.

Our program model encourages the development of one-on-one, personal, and meaningful relationships: true friendships.

Belonging.

We long for the day when people of all abilities are fully accepted—and expected—in the Body of Christ.

Our Mission

is to provide resources that support faith formation and congregational inclusion with individuals with intellectual disability.

Our Vision

is people with and without intellectual disability growing deeper in their relationship with God and with each other in community together.

All Friendship Ministry Leaders have been screened through the Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check through the BC Ministry of Justice.
